Block mounting is an inexpensive alternative to picture framing. It is a process of applying adhesive to 9mm mdf that traditionally has black edges. The mdf is placed into a vacuum press where all the air is drawn out between the poster and the block mount. Vacuum block mounting to the backing has the added benefit of removing creases that may have been in the poster. This vacuum block mounting process is the same as when mounting art prints or posters onto 3mm mdf or foam core for regular picture framing.
